Music Won't Save You: "Although once again the piano is the engine of Lane's inspiration, in the pieces of "Slow Autumn At My Window" it often assumes a secluded position, as a discreet thread on which a variety of real sounds are grafted, originating from the vibrations of the bow (not only on the violin, but also on guitar and psaltery), or the result of samples and electronic manipulation. The continuous recombination of elements unfolded along the course of the twenty-one tracks, however, results in an itinerary of reflective and, as the title suggests, autumnal sensations, oriented to a serene and subtly melancholy contemplation, which elevates arcane romanticism to an ever so cohesive expressive code of harmonic arabesques suspended in an “elsewhere” with an enchanted charm."
